The Blindfold Metaphor
The initial idea was inspired by the Allegory of the Cave and the film Bird Box. The sketch portrayed a person wearing a blindfold, deliberately refusing to look at the pollution behind them. Printed on the blindfold was a beautiful landscape — symbolising the illusion people choose to see instead of environmental destruction. The concept visually contrasts denial and reality.

In this iteration, I edited the image to black and white and refined details such as the hand positioning. The removal of colour created a harsh, dull atmosphere — reinforcing the seriousness of environmental consequences and contrasting the illusion of beauty presented by the blindfold.
